Happy Belated BIrthday, Allyson Elyse

For months, my mom and I have planned Allyson's 1st birthday party. Living out of state, it is unusual for our family to be home on a special occasion. On New Year's Eve, I started getting sick. I would feel better and then I would feel really sick. Finally as we arrived back in Houston from our trip to Huntsville, I knew I needed to go to the ER. I was still feeling sick and I knew there was no way I could get on the plane in my condition. After several hours, I was admitted to the hospital...acute gastroentroentitis, with severe dehydration. My sweet baby girl came to visit me in the hosptial on her first birthday. As I layed in the hospital bed, I was thinking how ironic it was that I was a patient just a year before and here I was again. Thankfully, they released me from the hospital on January 5th, and I declared January 6th to be Allyson Elyse Jones' unoffical 1st birthday. The party didn't go through, but we were still able to celebrate her special day with family by our side. Hopefully, we will be able to share your birthday with our Texas family and friends another year.
